Kiest Park hosts a Historic Memorial Tree Grove located in the far northwestern corner of the Park - Texas Historic Tree Planting Association Grove.

The Texas Historic Tree Planting Association Memorial Grove had dedications of bronze plaques and trees planted from 1936 to 1941. Dedications were to prominent individuals who changed the social, civic, cultural and governmental climate of Oak Cliff, Dallas and several northeastern counties of Texas during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Several of the dedicated trees also had historic lineage themselves.

The Kiest Park Memorial Tree Grove Preservation and Restoration Project was awarded a GrowSouth Neighborhood Challenge Grant in the amount of $10,000 at the City of Dallas "Mayor's Neighborhood Conference at Gilley's Dallas. This Grant was obtained by Kiest Park Community Group Neighborhood Association, who is spearheading the project, with the assistance from members of Sunset Hill NA, Oak Terrace NA, Druid Hills NA, Oak Park Estates, as well as a founding member and past board member of the Friends of Oak Cliff Parks. The GrowSouth Grant will help to develop and construct the center circular pathway and the initial 30' dedication wall that will house the preservation of the now 20 remaining bronze dedication plaques still in the Texas Historic Tree Planting Association Grove.
