Colonel A. C. Burnett
Colonel Almer Cecil Parker

Colonel Almer Cecil Burnett was the son of Jeremiah "Jerry" Burnett and Lula Lorena Rawlinson.  He was recognized on April 14, 1937 with a plaque in The Texas Historical Tree Grove in Kiest Park as Commander of the R.O.T.C. from Sunset High School, presented by W. T. White, Principal of Sunset High School. 

 

In 1915 Almer married Hazel Lynn Woods (1896 -1981).  He was the father of Lynne Marie Burnett (1937-2005).  He and wife lived at 626 S. Winnetka Ave until about 1938 when they moved to 3315 Hanover Ave where he resided until his death.

Col. Burnett served in World War I and II.  He died of Hypertension on November 2, 1973 and is buried at Restland Memorial Park.
